Interns

Interns rotate to Theodore every ten weeks from Rockhampton Base Hospital under the Rural Junior Doctor Training and Innovation Fund (RJDTIF). Interns will work at Theodore Medical assisting doctors with taking patient histories, admitting patients to hospital, discharge summaries and mentoring medical students. All patients must be seen by a senior doctor before patients can leave the clinic. Interns are not able to bill a patient. Interns work a 38 hour week – 7.30 to 4.30 Monday to Friday and 7.30 to 2.30 on a Friday. Wednesday afternoons are dedicated formal teaching time with senior doctors, registrars, intern and medical students.
